25 Eye-Catching and Creative Print Ads Examples

Despite the MASSIVE changes in advertising, media, consumerism and communication… the humble print ad is still an important part of any serious marketing strategy. The clutter of mainstream media these days, and the needs of the consumer, seems to have stripped print ads right back… strong and unique images, limited copy, unusual placements and strong links to social media, mobile and web platforms.

People don’t have the time or patience to sit and read paragraphs. The link below will show you some great examples of current print advertising design, and these principles can easily be applied to YOUR next print advert. Drop us an email, we’re happy to brainstorm some ideas and put together an engaging campaign.

Australia Day: Reg Mombassa

Pic: Powerhouse Museum

It’s Australia Day people! I feel like doing something quintessentially Aussie… no, not getting a Southern Cross tattoo, pissing on down at the beach and starting an all-in brawl with the local ‘ethnics’… something much more Aussie than that! Thats right I’m going to claim a famous man from across the ‘ditch’ as our own!

Mr Reg Mombassa (born Chris O’Doherty in New Zealand, 1951… location irrelevant cause he’s an Aussie today :P ) is responsible for one of the most recognisable creative styles in our history. I challenge anyone NOT to identify a poster/painting/drawing/print/logo as ‘Made by Reg Mombassa.’ Reg made the Mambo brand unique when they started using his creations to promote their clothing line. He’s also a founding member of Mental As Anything!

The poster above is one of my favourite Mombassa creations… and it adorned the back of my folder in high school… covered in Contact for posterity of course. It’s called ‘Mambo Biology: Human Reproduction’ and it outlines the instructions for ‘sexual congress.’ It’s recommended reading if you can track one down…

Check out Reg’s website for more… Happy Australia Day!!
